Ranburne High School Band Program

The Ranburne High School Band has 5 bands:

Beginner Band- 6th grade- performs at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. This band meets during 1st period during the school day. 

7th & 8th grade band- performs together in November Pops Concert, Christmas Concert, and Spring Concert. This band meets together afterschool previous to upcoming concerts. During the school day, 7th grade band members meet during 3rd period and 8th grade band members meet during 7th period. 

9-12 Concert Band- performs at November Pops Concert, Christmas Concert, March "Music in Our Schools" concert, Spring Concert, and perform at the ABA Music Performance Assessment in the Spring. This class meets during 5th period. In the spring semester, in preparation for MPA, there are afterschool sectionals. 

Marching Band- open to students in grades 8-12. Students in 7th grade may participate as a band manager. This is an extra-curricular band. Auditions for Majorette, Danceline, Drumline, and Drum Major are help in the Spring. Summer Practices and Band camp are held. In the fall, the Marching band practices afterschool on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The Marching Band performs at RHS Football games, competes in Marching Competitions and marches in local Christmas Parades

Jazz Band- open to students in grades 8-12. Students perform in Christmas Concert, March " Music in Our Schools" Concert, Spring concert and Solo & Ensemble. The Jazz Band also performs at any local venues to which we are invited.

Other opportunities for Ranburne Band students includes Honor Bands  (East Alabama Honor Band, District II Band, All-State Band, JSU Honor Band ), and Solo & ensemble in the Spring.
