Child Nutrition Program
A new law called "The Healthy and Hunger-Free Kids Act becomes effective in our schools this year. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has made several changes to our meal pattern this year, and more changes will be coming until it is fully implemented in the 2022-2023 school years. According to the USDA, this act allows the USDA the opportunity to make real reforms in the school lunch and breakfast programs by improving the critical nutrition and hunger safety net for millions of children.
The new meals are estimated to cost the Child Nutrition Programs about twenty-five to thirty-five cents more per plate. Therefore, our prices have increased by twenty cents across the board.
The new prices are as follows:
Students Lunch Breakfast
Full paid $2.00 $1.25
Reduced $0.40 $0.30
Free $0 $0
Faculty/support $2.50 $1.50
Adult visitor $3.75 $1.75
Visiting student $2.00 $1.25
Calories per lunch are changed to the following:

*There is a specific requirement for dark green, red/orange, beans, peas and legumes. Fruits may be fresh, frozen without added sugar, canned in juice or light syrup or dried.
In year 2012-2013, at least half of our grain offerings must be whole-grain rich.
Our school lunches and breakfasts may contain NO Trans-fat.
Sodium and saturated fat is also restricted.
